Dr. Rittenberger's research on survival after cardiac arrest |
|
Dr. Rittenberger's research interest is on improving outcomes following cardiac arrest. His most recent work was featured in this month's Pitt Chronicle (www.chronicle.pitt.edu/?p=3167). This research demonstrates that victims of cardiac arrest are twice as likely to survive without significant injury to the brain following an event if they receive coronary angiography compared to patients that don't receive the procedure. Dr. Rittenberger's work was also recognized at the recent Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) annual meeting in New Orleans. There he received the prestigious SAEM Young Investigator Award. |
